I was a little disappointed that the rated specs on this were not higher. So far though it has performed much better than expected. Punched sixty-eight 1/2 holes into fully cured 4 concrete slab in under 15 minutes. Probably could have pushed it harder and got it done quicker. Drill did not quit and ran very cool.
Don't Expect this drill to contend with a corded sds max but I will defiantly be using this for everything that my corded DeWalt sds+ has handled in the past. Looking forward to using it much more.I have had a hilti cordless hammer drill for a while, but it is only a drill/hammer drill. I have seen this upcoming on the website for the last two weeks and have found excuses to go to Lowe's 3 times this week! Finally found them in stock on Saturday (had to ask because the tools guy didn't even know they were in production) bought a new sds plus bit to do the head to head with my hilti. I have a large granite rock that seemed like the perfect thing to punch some holes into. The kobalt punched into the granite quickly burying the 3/4 bit. The hilti next, no struggle, but it definitely did not hit (hammer)as rapid.
I didn't time the tests, but I do construction and demo, real world feel kobalt hands down. My hilti has been a great tool and found a place in my truck for drilling through stucco and cement, or doing layout on an 8in thick wall, but (and I don't do this often) it's found a place on offer up, because my kobalt is more functional. Hammer drill, drills, and chisels. O Next time I have some concrete detail work I'll update on if it is a viable alternative to a corded chipping hammer. The item "USA SHIP NEW KOBALT 24v MAX 7/8 ROTARY HAMMER DRILL BRUSHLESS SDS+ KRH 124B-03" is in sale since Friday, November 8, 2019.
